I chose to create web ads for a movie based on the children's book, The Giving Tree. I took photos of my son, a tree in my front yard, and overlaid them on a stock background. Then I found a pubic domain image of an old woman, masked her face, and overlaid it on the tree. Next, I made a displacement layer with the tree bark and used it to distort the face a bit. And finally, I used various blending modes and painted some overlays to highlight certain parts of the image.
